The City of Long Beach is holding its annual tree lighting this Friday, and all families from the City by the Sea are invited to attend.

The event will start on Friday, Dec. 6 at 4 p.m. at Kennedy Plaza inside Santa's Village — a heated tent that will have holiday crafts for kids, a mini Yuletide Market, food, hot chocolate, cookies, a photo station, letters to Santa, holiday cards and more.

The tree lighting ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. at the bandwagon facing the tree. And the Long Beach Fire Department will be escorting Santa to the event.

On Dec. 7, you can return to the Santa's Village in the plaza from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., when it will be transformed into a full Yuletide Market, featuring Arts in the Plaza pop-up shopping. Arts in the Plaza artisans will be selling their wares, so you'll be able to find a holiday gift for everyone. There will also be live music by Studio Noir throughout the day, and crafts for kids.
