Long Island Memorial Day Weekend Weather: Half Rainy, Half Sunny

There's a rainy Saturday in the forecast, and cooler temps the rest of the weekend. But at least there will be sun.

There's going to be both rain and sun on Long Island this Memorial Day weekend, but not necessarily warm beach temperatures.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Unfortunately, there may not be perfect beach weather this Memorial Day weekend. There's rain for part of the weekend. And while there's sun for the rest of it, temperatures just aren't going to go high enough to make the beach a super enticing offer.

First, the bad news: it's likely going to rain tonight and all day Saturday. There could even be thundershowers. There are also dangerous rip currents in the waters today, so anyone at the beach needs to be extra careful.

The rest of the weekend looks much better, although cooler. The highs for Sunday and Monday are in the mid-60s. Which is nice, but not quite beach weather. However, it's great barbecuing weather.
