Nassau Police Looking For Man Who Tried To Lure Children

Police say the man tried to lure two children to him when their mother stepped away, but they refused.

OCEANSIDE, NY — Nassau County police are looking for a man who tried to lure to children to his car at an Oceanside supermarket Monday evening.

According to police, a 46-year-old woman was in the parking lot of Stop & Shop, located at 465 Atlantic Ave. in Oceanside, with her two children, ages 5 and 11. The woman walked away to grab a shopping cart. While she was gone, a man waved at the children and signaled for them to come over to him. The children refused.

The man then got into a gold Dodge Ram with silver wheels and left the area. The truck had a blue wheelbarrow in the back.

The man was white, 5 feet, 8 inches tall and 160 pounds. He was wearing a black face mask and dark sunglasses.
