Person Jumps To Death From Roof Of Long Beach Apartments: Police

Long Beach police said the body of the jumper was found on a nearby sidewalk Friday morning.

LONG BEACH, NY — A person jumped from the roof of the Lafayette Terrace apartments, at 370 West Broadway, Long Beach police said.

The body was found on the adjacent sidewalk when officers arrived just after 7:30 a.m Friday. Police have yet to identify the body.

Long Beach Fire Department medics pronounced the person dead, Long Beach Police Department Sergeant Brett Curtis said in a statement.

The incident is being investigated, but it does not appear to be criminal in nature, police said.
