Southbound Meadowbrook To Close For Road Work

On Wednesday night, the southbound Meadowbrook Parkway will be closed at its southernmost section.

All of the southbound lanes of the parkway will be closed from 9 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday between exits M9 (Merrick Road) and M10 (The Loop Parkway). The closure will only be for the one night, and northbound lanes will remain open.

The closure is to give work crews a safe area as they resurface the pavement and install new lane markings. The work is part of the $3.9 million Jones Beach Gateway Project, which includes demolishing the unused Jones Beach toll plaza, building a new gateway sign and reconstructing the entrance ramp to the Loop Parkway from the Meadowbrook Parkway.
