Sunny, Mild Labor Day Weekend In Store For Long Island

Things aren't going to get too hot this weekend, although it may end with some rain on Monday.

Labor Day is here this weekend, which means that summer is (unofficially) over.

Fortunately for those looking to have some fun this weekend, there's going to be some very mild weather, capped off with possible rain on Monday.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures are going to be in the upper 70s all weekend, with nighttime lows in the 60s. Still, Saturday and Sunday promise to be quite sunny.

Here's the full forecast for the weekend:

  • Friday Afternoon: Sunny, with a high near 81. Southwest wind 14 to 16 mph.
  • Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. Southwest wind 6 to 10 mph becoming north after midnight.
  • Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 78. North wind 5 to 8 mph.
  • Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 63. Northeast wind 3 to 6 mph.
  • Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 77. Northeast wind 7 to 9 mph.
  • Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 66.
  • Labor Day: A 40 percent chance of showers after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 79.
  • Monday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67.
