Town of Hempstead's Free Family Festival this Weekend
Come down to Lido Beach and have fun with the whole family. Or take part in some competitive eating!

Golden autumn sunshine and refreshing ocean breezes will create a perfect seaside setting for the Town of Hempstead’s Family Festival by the Sea Saturday and Sunday. Saturday, Sept. 24 and Sunday, Sept. 25, from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. in Lido Beach. Hempstead Town Supervisor Anthony J. Santino invites residents and visitors alike to ride a wave of fun and excitement into Lido Beach Town Park for a weekend of live concerts, delicious food, craft and novelty vendors, sand sculptures, circus entertainers and great children’s shows.
The festival will run Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Parking and admission are free for town residents. The event will be held at Lido Beach Town Park, located at 630 Lido Boulevard in Lido Beach.
There will be fun for the whole family, and a few special events. On Saturday at 1 p.m., you can satisfy your appetite for competition by getting a taste of the Clam and Wing Eating Contests. The competitive eating events are sponsored by Swingbelly’s of Long Beach and Pop’s Seaford Shack and Grill of Island Park.

The festival’s highlights include stage shows, circus performers, animal acts, pony rides, a petting zoo and Cool Science exhibits. There will also be instructional tennis clinics sponsored by the United States Tennis Association at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
