
Most of you who read my essays know how I feel about a stroll on the shore, many of you feel the same way. But sometimes our little respite from life’s trials is violated.
In place of the calming seascape, anger erupts.
A transgressor has ruined your day at the shore: your bike is stolen, your car vandalized, your wallet swiped, or worse—someone has destroyed an oystercatcher egg. This last has happened not long ago. And we in Long Beach were furious!

I learned of an anger incident that caused me to think more about it. It’s about dealing with people who have gone astray, people missing the beauty of life that we find, we cherish, every day.
Many of us who stroll our shores stop to pick up plastic bottles, cans, etc. and place them in the recycling cans. We recycle at home too.
