LOWER EAST SIDE, NY — The seventh Essex Crossing tower has reached its peak, developers announced Tuesday.

The 14-story building at 202 Broome St. near Norfolk Street is set to have office space and 83 luxury condos by late 2020 at the Lower East Side's latest development project.

"With luxury condominiums, groundbreaking Class A offie space, TheMarket Line and Broome Street Gardens all under one roof, 202 Broome Street will be one of Essex Crossing's most dynamic sites," Charles Bendit, co-chief executive officer at Taconic Investment Partners, one of the developers on the team Delancey Street Associates, said in a statement.

"202 Broome Street exemplifies the campus-like feel that's taking shape at Essex Crossing — a place where workers in cutting-edge office space will have the city's largest marketplace and four subways just steps away, and residents above will enjoy top-flight amenities and incredible views of the Midtown skyline," Bendit said.

The ground floor will feature 10,000 square feet of retail space. The second through fifth floor will have office space, while condos will sit on the sixth through 14th floor. Information about the size and pricing of the condos has yet to be announced.

The latest tower is set to feature the long-anticipated food vendors haven, The Market Line, which connects to Essex Street Market, as well as an indoor park area dubbed the Broome Street Gardens. The Market Line's first phase will open next month, according to a release.

Essex Crossing has been unfolding in Manhattan's Lower East Side. Essex Street Market and a movie theatre opened earlier this year, towers have been steadily rising, and one of the first buildings completed is selling its last residence. A vegetable farm and public open space have also recently opened.

About half of the 1,079 apartments in the entirety of the project are below market rate. Two buildings, at 180 Broome St. and 140 Essex St., will have about 200 below market rate apartments, the latter set aside for seniors.

The entire Essex Crossing will be finished by 2024, after the lots sat vacant when buildings were razed and families displaced in the 1960s.
