PHOTOS: New Renderings Released of Luxury Condos in Essex Crossing
The units at 242 Broome Street are officially up for sale.

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY — New photos were released Tuesday of the luxury condos at 242 Broome St., revealing citywide views, expansive windows and a cushy life. The 14-story, 55-unit building is expected to be completed by early 2018, according to Delancey Street Associates, the three development companies constructing the Essex Crossing — L+M Development Partners, Taconic Investment Partners and BFC Partners.
The apartments, with interior design by DXA Studio, will range from one to three bedrooms. Eleven of them are going to be affordable, for so-called "middle-class families," according to Delancey Street Associates. Prices range from $1,275,000 to $7 million for the units with "open layouts, high ceilings and wide-plant white oak flooring throughout," according to a statement from Delancey Sales Associates.
The building's amenities include a doorman, fitness center with changing areas, entertainment lounge, bike storage and a rooftop terrace with outdoor dining.

The swath of land from Ludlow Street to the tip of the Williamsburg Bridge has been mostly empty since 1967, and the new development, including 500 affordable units, new shops, parks and a movie theater, should be fully finished by 2024.
