Honorees to be awarded Unispan Award at annual dinner that is held annually to commemorate the bond between Hofstra and Hempstead.

Hofstra University is set to celebrate their 41st Annual Hofstra for Hempstead Scholarship Dinner next month.
The event will be held March 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the Main Dining Room of the Mack Student Center on the university’s North Campus.
“Forty-one years ago, a dedicated and caring group of volunteers met for the first time to raise scholarship funds to make it possible for deserving students from Hempstead High School to attend Hofstra University,” officials said this week.

Each year, the Hempstead for Hofstra/Hofstra for Hempstead Committee gathers to award scholarships and strengthen the bond the university and the community it calls home.
The annual dinner also honors men and women with the Unispan Award, which is named for the campus pedestrian bridge and is given to community members who connect in a meaningful way to the Hempstead community.
