Ex-Chief of East Rockaway Fire Department Honored

The Town of Hempstead recently honored East Rockaway Ex-Chief Lawrence Schaefer for 50 years of continuous service to the East Rockaway Fire Department.

At the event, the honoree was designated a commissioner of the department. Commissioner Schaefer, who moved to East Rockaway in 1961, is a retired member of the New York State Parkway Police and a veteran of the US Army.
