Daikin Sci. Scholarship Helps Spark Next Gen. of Tech Innovators

Daikin will present scholarships of $2,000 to five students who have achieved academic excellence in science, engineering and technology.

Seeking to help inspire the next generation of innovators in science, technology and mathematics, Daikin (www.northamerica-daikin.com), a worldwide provider of advanced, high-quality air conditioning and heating solutions for residential, commercial and industrial applications, recently hosted representatives from Nassau County high schools to introduce the inaugural Daikin Science Scholarship Program. Created to provide financial assistance and mentoring to graduating seniors seeking to pursue careers in the fields of science, engineering and technology, Daikin will present scholarships of $2,000 to five students who have achieved academic excellence in these disciplines. The Daikin Science Scholarship Program is an extension of the company’s long-standing education, sustainability and responsibility initiatives around the globe.

The participating schools for the 2020 Daikin Science Scholarship Program are Garden City High School, Hempstead High School, Lynbrook High School, Oceanside High School, and Valley Stream Central High School. The scholarship program was rolled out to school personnel at Daikin’s Comfort Design Center, 817 Sunrise Highway, Lynbrook.

Local school administrators and faculty will determine Daikin Science Scholarship Program recipients. In addition to providing financial support, Daikin will give the scholarship awardees access to its technical and business professionals for guidance throughout their college careers.
