ETERNAL CON Returns for Epic Sixth Year
Long Island's Premier Comic Con and Fan Event features dozens of celebrity guests and 40th Anniversary Celebration of Superman: The Movie.
UNIONDALE, NY; May 24, 2018 – Eternal Con, Long Island's premier Comic Book and Cosplay convention returns bigger than ever before for its sixth anniversary, two-day extravaganza on Saturday, June 16 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday, June 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the New Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, NY. This year, commemorating the 40th Anniversary of "Superman: The Movie," the event will welcome back cast members from the original Richard Donner-directed film, including Mark McClure ("Jimmy Olsen"), Sarah Douglas ("Ursa"), Jack O'Halloran ("Non"), and Jeff East ("Young Clark Kent") as well as Brandon Routh, who portrayed The Man of Steel in the 2006 film, "Superman Returns." Eternal Con will also have a screening of the original 1978 film starring the late Christopher Reeve at nearby Roosevelt Field's AMC Theater.
A special tribute to actress Margot Kidder, who portrayed Lois Lane in the 1978 movie and its sequels who recently passed away at the age of 69, will also be held during the event. Fans will be able to honor Ms. Kidder in a designated area where they can leave cards, letters and small mementos, as well as write messages, leave notes and memories on a tribute banner. Additionally, a small number of event-exclusive "Superman: The Movie"-related prints will be available for purchase at the event. All proceeds from the sale of these items will be donated and designated to the Christopher Reeve Foundation.
"2018 marks several milestones in Superman's history - not only being the 40th anniversary of the Richard Donner film, but the 80th anniversary of the appearance of Superman in Action Comics No. 1, which was released in June 1938," said Eternal Con founder Frank Patz. "This year at the New Nassau Coliseum, Eternal Con will be celebrating these special milestones of The Last Son of Krypton with our celebrity guests from the movies, which will be something fans will be talking about for years to come."
