LYNBROOK, NY — Approval has been given for construction to begin on a new luxury apartment complex in Lynbrook, which will be dubbed the Cornerstone at Yorkshire. It will be replacing the Capri Lynbrook Motor Inn, which was long a blight on the community.

The Nassau County IDA announced last week that it gave approval to financial incentives to Farmingdale-based developer Terwilliger & Bartone Properties, LLC. Construction is expected to begin in the spring, the developers said.

The new apartment complex will be 97,482 square feet and have 80 units, eight of which will be affordable units. It will be located just a half-mile from the Lynbrook LIRR station.

“We are thrilled to be preparing for construction of The Cornerstone at Yorkshire to begin this spring,” said Anthony Bartone, managing partner of Terwilliger & Bartone Properties. “We appreciate the input and support of all community members, officials and stakeholders who have made this transformative vision possible, and we look forward to bringing a first-class residential community that will help support local businesses and contribute significant revenue to help strengthen the village for years to come.”

The 80 units will be 28 studios, 44 one-bedroom and eight two-bedroom apartments. Amenities will include a modern fitness center, clubroom, courtyard, quartz counter tops, stainless steel appliances, washers and dryers in all units and more.
