Free Summer Classes Announced For Lynbrook High School Students

All out-of-district residents would be charged $700 per class.

LYNBROOK, NY — Summer doesn't have to just be time for the beach. Lynbrook High School students can do some extra learning.

It will be held July 6 through August 11 at Lynbrook South Middle School.

There is no charge for Lynbrook High School students, but out-of-district residents must pay $700 per class, the Lynbrook School District said in a statement.

The program consists of English, math, science, social studies and physical education. Math SAT prep courses are also being offered.

Classes are set to take place Monday through Thursday with two periods each day, from 7:20 to 9 a.m. and 9:02 to 10:42 a.m.

Lynbrook students can register for summer classes through their guidance counselor. All other students can register at the Lynbrook South Middle School library on June 28 from 8:30 to 11 a.m.

While there will be no virtual option, the school district said safety procedures will be followed closely, including masking and sanitizing.

Students must complete an immunization sheet to be signed by a school nurse or other health care professional.
