Ground Central Coffee Opens First Long Island Location

The trendy New York City cafe opened its first Long Island location earlier this month.

Ground Central, a small chain of New York City cafes, has opened its first Long Island location in Lynbrook.

Located at 659 Sunrise Highway, the cafe takes the space in a shopping center that used to be occupied by Starbucks. And like its large competitor, Ground Central sells coffee, tea and pastries at similar prices.

However, the atmosphere is different. Ground Central boasts of playing classic rock records all day. And its menu also features wine and beer, as well as a large selection of tea.

The cafe in Lynbrook features soft seating, wall art featuring notable locals and locations and a large selection of classic rock records (on vinyl, of course). The store is open from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays and 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends.

The Lynbrook store opened on Jan. 7, and has been making a splash in the community. On social media, the chain is already asking where it should open its next location.
