The disabled Amtrak train has been cleared from the tunnel. Customers can continue to expect 10-15 minute residual eastbound delays and some cancellations from Penn Station. We will keep you updated.

There are numerous delays and cancellations on the Long Island Rail Road Thursday evening.
"Due to a disabled Amtrak train in one of the East River tunnels, customers can anticipate delays and some cancellations from Penn Station as we work to operate around the disabled train," the LIRR posted on Twitter at 5 p.m.

About half hour later, the LIRR said: "A rescue engine is en route to the disabled Amtrak train in one of the East River tunnels. We are experiencing 10-15 minute eastbound delays and cancellations from Penn Station as we continue to operate around the disabled train."

It was a rough commute this morning on the LIRR as well:
The LIRR is experiencing delays averaging 15-20 minutes west of Jamaica due to an overheight vehicle striking an LIRR bridge near Forest Hills at 71st Ave. We have directed trains to operate at reduced speed as a precaution. LIRR personnel are assessing the situation.
