Lynbrook Girls Basketball Team Clinches County Title

Senior Kerrin Montgomery finished her career by setting a new school record.

The Lynbrook High School girls varsity basketball team won the Nassau A-III Co-Conference Championship, besting Glen Cove by a score of 69-60. This is the team’s first conference title since 2012. The team finished the season with a 9-3 conference record.

The Owls were led by senior Kerrin Montgomery, who had 21 points and 24 rebounds to lead Lynbrook in the Nassau A-III conference. She completed her high school career with 1017 points and 1058 total rebounds, setting a school record.

Junior Sophia LoCicero added 30 points, including four three-pointers in a one-minute span in the second quarter. She led the Owls in scoring, averaging 19.6 points per game, finishing among the top eight scorers in Nassau County and in the top 16 on Long Island.

The Owls’ winning season was also aided by team play from Sara Bahri, Madison Barroso, Kerin Bartels, Erin‎ Bond, Ashley Cegelski, Rachel Foley, Lauren Hernandez, Emily‎ Kluth, Emma Lavin, Kayla O’Doherty, Erin‎ Pender, Briana Piro, Elizabeth Ratkiewicz and Amanda‎ Walsh.
