Lynbrook Named a Top Place to Start a Business in New York
New rankings put several Long Island communities in the top places for starting a business in the state.

Lynbrook is the one of the best places to start a business in New York State, according to a new ranking released Monday by NerdWallet.
The site analyzed data from the U.S. Census Bureau to rank the business climate and economic health of 83 New York communities. NerdWallet restricted their analysis to areas with populations above 5,000.
Lynbrook came in at No. 16 on their list and was one of the top Long Island communities to be ranked. Businesses in Lynbrook take in an average annual revenue of $969,110, has 11.37 businesses per 100 residents, 37.78 percent of businesses with paid employees, and has a 5.2 percent unemployment rate.

Here are the top 10 places to start a business in New York, according to NerdWallet:
- Suffern
- Garden City
- Mineola
- Glens Falls
- Harrison
- White Plains
- Ithaca
- Rockville Centre
- Mount Kisco
- Watertown
