Malverne, Lynbrook Village Elections to Be Held Tuesday

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. in unopposed village elections.

MALVERNE

The Village of Malverne polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday as resident will have the opportunity to vote in the 2013 village elections.

All three nominees in this year's election -- two trustees and one village justice -- are running uncontested.

Incumbents John O'Brien and Joseph Hennessy are running for re-election as trustees, a four-year term.

James Frankie, who was recently appointed to village justice following the death of Judge James Dougherty, is running to retain his seat for the two years that remain of Dougherty's term.

Voting will take place Malverne Fire Department Headquarters, located at 30 Broadway.

LYNBROOK

The Village of Lynbrook's polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Like Malverne, three incumbents will be running unopposed in Lynbrook. Trustees Hilary Becker and Michael Hawxhurst and judge William McLaughlin are all running for re-election.

The only polling place is at the Recreation Center at Greis Park.
