Musical High Notes for Malverne Students

Malverne students participated in Music in the Parks at Great Adventure and Busch Gardens in May.

In May, Malverne students participated in Music in the Parks at Great Adventure and Busch Gardens, where they competed against musical groups from across the nation.

The HTH Middle School Class Six Rhythmix and seventh- and eighth-grade Select Choir traveled to Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey for the event. The Select Choir, directed by Rachel Trevor, won first place in the Mixed Chorus category and received an overall rating of “excellent.” The Class Six Rhythmix, directed by Deanna Vitola, won first place in the Treble Choir category with a rating of “excellent” as well as a trophy for Best Overall Middle School Choir.

The High School Select Choir, directed by Ken Zagare and performing under Alyssa Rizzuto, traveled to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia, where they won first place in their division with a rating of “superior” and the award for Best Overall High School Choir. Brandon Joseph won the Best Soloist award.
