Nassau Gas Station Robbed At Knifepoint In Broad Daylight

Police say the robber entered the gas station at 7 a.m. and threatened the clerk with a knife.

FRANKLIN SQUARE, NY — A man robbed a Nassau gas station at knifepoint Monday morning, and police are seeking the public's help to find him.

According to police, a man entered the BP gas station at 740 Hempstead Turnpike in Franklin Square at 7 a.m. He went behind the counter and up to the 63-year-old man working there, pulled out a knife and demanded money fro the register. The employee opened the register, and the man fled on foot eastbound with the cash.

The robber was a black man, about 5 feet, 11 inches tall, with a slim build. he was wearing a black jacket, black pants, black flip-flop sandals with white socks and a green face mask.

No one was injured during the robbery.

Police ask anyone with information about the robbery to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
