Nassau Woman Attacked In Her Driveway, Seriously Injured

Police say a man threw an unknown liquid into the woman's face, causing serious injuries.

ELMONT, NY — A young woman from Elmont was seriously injured after she was attacked by a man in her driveway Wednesday night.

According to police, the 21-year-old woman was walking in the driveway of her home on Arlington Avenue at 8:15 p.m. when she was approached from behind by an unknown man. The man was carrying a white cup with a dark liquid in it. Police say he threw the liquid into the woman's face, and then fled.

The woman sustained serious physical injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Police did not say what the nature of her injuries were, and were not able to identify what the liquid was.

The attacker was about 6 feet, 2 inches tall with a skinny build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and gloves.

Police ask anyone with information about this attack to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS, or to call 911. All callers will remain anonymous.
