Own A Horse-Lover's Paradise For Only $20 Million

A privately owned horse ranch on Long Island is for sale and includes everything an equestrian could want.

WEST HEMPSTEAD, NY — The New York Equestrian Center, the last privately owned horse farm in the Town of Hempstead, is now for sale for $20 million. And though the price tag is steep, you get a lot for your money — including an additional property in upstate New York.

The Equestrian Center, located at 633 Eagle Ave. in West Hempstead, was built in 1924, and then refurbished by the current owner, Alexander Jacobson. It sits on two acres of land, but has access to the 775-acre Hempstead Lake State Park right next door, which features nine miles of horse-riding trails.

The sate-of-the-art facility features a 60 x 100 outdoor ring, as well as an indoor equestrian center with 140 x 185 and 36 x 85 rings and 30,000 square feet of space on the first floor and an additional 12,000 square feet on the second floor.

In addition, the facility has 63 classic stalls, indoor heated wash stall, rubber pavers, an observation mezzanine, tack lockers, water and electric hook up in every stall, a tack room and storage area, aqua treadmill, tremble plate with horse scale and solarium and salt-water spa, all for horse conditioning and rehabilitation.

The equestrian center is isn't all you get, either. There are four homes attached to the property: a five-bedroom, three-bath Hi Ranch with one-car garage and separate four-car garage; a three-bedroom, two-bath; four-bedroom, three-bath; and a five-bedroom.
