Malvernites were out in force Sunday to honor the memory of former resident  Dennis Giordano.

A memorial tree was dedicated to Giordano’s service to the little league and to the community of Malverne by the Malverne Little League. The tree dedication will take place at Whelan Field.

Giordano passed away in January 2013 at the age of 67 after suffering from a sudden heart attack in his sleep.

The long-time Malverne resident was a member of the Malverne Zoning Board, as well as a past president of the Malverne Little League. He was actively involved in little league right up to his passing.
