Sandy Families Get Free Back to School Supplies
The National Council of Jewish Women and North Shore-LIJ partnered to create this shopping experience.

In the continuing effort to help Hurricane Sandy victims rebuild their lives, the National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW), partnered with North Shore-LIJ, created a Back 2 School Store last Sunday in where kids could pick up new clothing, school supplies and other necessities that help create a foundation for self-esteem and enthusiasm in the classroom.
Held at the Temple Am Echad in Lynbrook, more than 300 young Sandy victims “shopped” for everything they need, but the best part is, there was no cashier to pay at the end. Set up like a department store, volunteer personal shoppers accompanied the children as they picked out supplies in their favorite colors and styles.
