Tony Danza to Guest Bartend at Connolly Station

Actor and Malverne HS alum helping to raise funds for sixth grade trip to Frost Valley.

"Who's the Boss?" star Tony Danza will be behind the bar at Connolly Station in Malverne for one night next month to help raise funds for the Malverne School District's annual field trip to Frost Valley YMCA.

The 1968 Malverne High School graduate has partnered up with the Save Frost Valley Committee, a group of parents who have been dilligently fundraising to preserve this sixth grade tradition ever since it was cut from the district's budget.

Before his acting career took off, Danza, whose family moved to Malverne when he was 14, worked as a bartender at Connolly's when it was called Ickle Bickle's. Now, the 62-year-old renowned actor and author, will be behind the bar again on March 14 as a guest bartender.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Save Frost Valley Fund. So far, the committee has raised just under $15,000 through various fundraisers including a car wash, candle sale, Zumba event and a concert with American Idol's Robbie Rosen.

The committee will release more details about the March 14 event, including the time, shortly.
