Almost at The Cross

Some journeys are difficult.

Then, there is the Cross, which was so brutal that it is named The Via Dolorosa, the way of sorrow, proclaimed as the designated processional path outlining the torturous trek in Jerusalem to Calvary, through rocky, steep terrain, rough cobblestones, suffocating arid heat, and malicious jabs and jeers.

Their beliefs were irrelevant as humanity’s foundational spiritual fibers beckoned them to respond. Maybe you can relate?

We’re always “almost” somewhere. Almost done with school, almost done with a relationship or job, almost done with chores and obligations, almost a teenager, almost the age to drive or imbibe alcohol. Right now, we are almost at the Cross.

Soon it will be erected with His agonizing flesh, pierced and hanging. Soon it will be too late.

Jesus is with you and understands your pain and worries.

That maybe joyful or woeful news depending on your perch and disposition. What is your “almost”? Because we are almost at the Cross.
