Are you ready for the WORM MOON?

This Wednesday brings us the 1st day of Spring and a Worm Moon. Whats a WORM MOON you ask?

It wasn't a horrific winter on Long Island this year, but I am sure we will all be welcoming Spring 2019 with open arms. Spring makes it’s official arrival on Wednesday March 20th at 5:58 pm. The first day is the Spring Equinox also called the Vernal Equinox. Equinox is a latin word meaning equal night, and on the Vernal Equinox we have an equal amount of day and night.

On Wednesday March 20th we will also be experiencing a WORM MOON. A worm moon is the last full moon of the Winter. It is called a WORM MOON because this occurrence coincided with the earthworms poking their heads out of the ground early each morning to kick off the Spring season.

So, goodbye Winter 2018/2019. Thank you Mother Nature for keeping our snowblowers in the garage and our kids in school.
