Bar Agave Replaces GM Burger Bar in Massapequa Park

Bar Agave, a restaurant owners say will offer "an authentic Mexican experience," has replaced GM Burger Bar in Massapequa Park.

The Mexican eatery, located at 4902 Merrick Road Massapequa Park, opened last week and will be serving up a variety of traditional plates and drinks.

"Bar Agave is a sophisticated family friendly, date night hot spot Mexican restaurant located in Massapequa, NY," owners said on Facebook. "After studying the culture and food for close to two years, our guests will get an authentic Mexican experience right here on Long Island."

George Korten transformed his former restaurant, GM Burger, which closed in July, into Bar Agave.

With a Guacamole Bar atop the menu, patrons can enjoy a Mexican classic served with crisp corn tortillas. In addition to the popular appetizer, Bar Agave offers some authentic starts like Queso Fun Dido, Empanadas De Mariscos, Bar Nachos and a classic Tortilla Soup.

Entrees include Skillet Tacos, Enchiladas, and a variety of house specials like a marinated skirt steak adobo, alambre de camarones ajilo and a grilled faroe island salmon.

Bar Agave is open Monday to Saturday from 5 to 11 p.m. and Sundays from 5 to 9 p.m.
