Cops: Massapequa Man Held Up Store, Found with Heroin

The man was found in a room at Budget Inn with a BB gun, police said.

A Massapequa man faces charged for holding up a Merrick Road store at gunpoint Tuesday afternoon, according to Nassau County Police.

At 1:45 p.m., Daniel Brown, 25, robbed County Line Farms, located at 5840 Merrick Rd., cops said. Brown pointed a black handgun at a female employee and demanded money from the register, police said. He fled west on Merrick Road with an unknown amount of cash, officials said.

Two officers canvassed the area and found Brown in a room at Budget Inn, located at 400 Carmen Mill Rd, authorities said. In the room, a Phantom CO2 cartridge BB gun and three packages of heroin were found, cops said.

Brown was charged with second-degree robbery and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He will be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
