
It's the week of the big game and it may be played in some difficult weather.Â
Here's a look ahead:
Super Bowl: For the first time ever the Super Bowl will be played in the New York-New Jersey area. It will kick off Sunday at 6:30 p.m. with the game to be shown on FOX. Â Another first adds intrigue to the meeting between the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks. Super Bowl XLVIII will mark the first time the game is played outdoors at a cold weather site. We may see some snow showers, according to the National Weather Service.
Weather: Super Bowl Sunday won't be the time we'll look at the weather this week. It's expected to be extremely cold on Tuesday and Wednesday.Â
Village Board: The Massapequa Park Village Board meets Monday at 8 p.m. at Village Hall, 151 Front Street in Massapequa Park.
Library Event: Saturday is "Take Your Child to the Library Day. Kids can get their library card  make crafts and read stories. It runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and there will be story time readings at the Bar Harbour branch at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Hoops: Massapequa's Boys team hosts Farmingdale at 4 p.m. Friday. The Girls team travels to Farmingdale for a 4 p.m. game.
