Lynbrook School Budget Passes
The votes are in for the district's 2020-21 budget. See how it fared in your community.

LYNBROOK, NY — The results are in, and the Lynbrook School District's budget passed.
The vote was 2,826 to 1271 in favor of the spending plan.
There were also three ballot propositions, all of which easily passed. Proposition 2, which would allow the spending of money from the Technology Replacement Fund, passed 3,353 to 743. Proposition 3, to spend money from the Building Renovation, Improvement, Upgrade and Equipment Fund, passed 3,339 to 763. And proposition 4, to create a new Capital Reserve Fund, passed 2,914 to 1,107.

Incumbent Board of Education Trustee Ellen Marcus was returned to her seat, earning 2,493 votes. Newcomer Patrick Palleschi was also voted to the board with 2,372 votes. Challengers Julia Scholl and Nazia DeFrank earned 1,475 and 564 votes, respectively.
All of the votes were cast by absentee ballot this year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
