Massapequa Gymnastics Team Earns Second County Title

The Massapequa High School girls varsity gymnastics team recently earned its second straight title during the championship meet last month.

The meet took place on Feb. 16 in Bethpage.

The Chiefs went undefeated this season to place first in Conference I.

Three members of the team, Heidi Baldinger, Elizabeth Murphy and Gillian Murphy, qualified for the New York State meet.

They will represent Nassau County during the competition at Cold Spring Harbor High School on March 4.

The girls were led by head coach Michael Capone and assistant coach Lisa Ranneklev.
