Massapequa High School Graduate Named 2017 Girls Soccer Athlete of the Year
Congratulations to Hope Breslin!

Hope Breslin, a 2017 graduate of Massapequa High School, was named the 2017 Girls Soccer Athlete of the Year by the National High School Coaches Association.
“I’m grateful that I was able to be a part of the Massapequa High School soccer program and have great coaches to support me,” she said.
Breslin recently received a scholarship to continue playing soccer for the University of Illinois.

During her four years on the varsity team, she netted 82 goals for the Chiefs to finish her career as Massapequa’s all-time leading scorer.
In addition, she helped lead her team to three consecutive Class AA state championships and a runner-up finish.

Breslin was a two-time New York State Player of the Year, New York’s Gatorade Player of the Year as a junior and played in the 2016 All-American high school girls soccer game representing the East.
“This is another well-deserved award for one of Massapequa High School’s most decorated athletes ever,” Director of Health, Athletics and Physical Education John Piropato said.
