Massapequa High School Student-Athletes Make College Commitments
Congratulations to all the students!

A total of 14 Massapequa High School student-athletes will continue playing sports at the collegiate level.
The students announced their choices during a national letter of intent signing ceremony on Feb. 1.
Out of the 14 students, 8 members of the girls soccer team have committed to colleges including:

- Kyleigh Gallagher (SUNY Cortland)
- Brianna DeLuna (Johnson and Wales University)
- Juliana Diesel (Bloomsburg University)
- Cristina Ferrara (Mercy College)
- Haley Murphy (Mount Saint Mary College)
- Julia Ophals (SUNY Geneseo)

- Tyler Hutchinson (University at Albany, soccer)
- Alessandro Sambone (Adelphi University, soccer)
- Anthony Buckshaw (SUNY Maritime College, football)
- Chris Sollenne (LIU Post, football)
- Maria Mercado (SUNY Cortland, track and field)
- Caitlin O’Connor (College of Wooster, field hockey)
“This is one of my favorite days of the year,” John Piropato, director of health, physical education, athletics and recreation said. “It’s always a proud moment to recognize the dedication and achievement of our student athletes.”
