Massapequa School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Massapequa is September 6. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Massapequa School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 9/6: First Day of School
• 9/21-22: Rosh Hashanah - No School

October

• 10/9: Columbus Day - No School

November

• 11/7: Sup. Conf. Day
• 11/10: Veterans Day - No School
• 11/23-24: Thanksgiving Recess

December

• 12/25-1/1: Winter Recess

January

• 1/15: Martin Luther King Jr. Day - No School

February

• 2/19-23: Mid-Winter Recess

March

• 3/30: Good Friday - No School
• 3/30-4/6: Spring Recess

May

• 5/25 & 5/28: Memorial Day - No School

June

• 6/22: Last Day of School

Emergency Days

• In the event one (1) emergency make-up day is used, schools will be open on May 25, 2018
• In the event two (2) emergency make-up days are used, schools will be open on April 6, 2018
• In the event three (3) emergency make-up days are used, schools will be open on April 5, 2018
• In the event four (4) emergency make-up days are used, schools will be open on April 4, 2018
