Massapequa Teen Awarded Cochlear Americas Graeme Clark Scholarship
Grace Agolia is one of five students to receive the 2014 award.

A Massapequa teen is one of five college students to be awarded this year’s the Cochlear Americas Graeme Clark Scholarship.
Grace Mariette Agolia, a sophomore at University of Notre Dame, was selected to receive up to $8,000 to put toward her college education.
The scholarship was established to help students who have the Nucleus Cochlear Implant further their education. Students awarded the annual scholarship are selected based on their academic achievements, leadership, and humanity, according to Cochlear.

Grace was born with profound bilateral sensorineural hearing loss in October 1995 and at 20 months old, received a Nucleus Cochlear Implant. She hopes to be a theologian and activist.
Some of Grace’s other accolades include being named to the University of Notre Dame Dean’s List and the Sacred Heart Academy Principal’s List. She is also a recipient of the NEFCU Making a Difference Premier Scholarship, the Alexander Graham Bell Association Scholarship, and the Good Deed Award for Long Island Teenagers, among many other accomplishments.
