Nassau Barkfest Canine Costume Contest Goes Virtual
Upload a picture of your costumed pup, and you could win a $150 gift card.
NASSAU COUNTY, NY — Due to the coronavirus, County Executive Laura Curran announced that this year's Nassau Barkfest, the county's annual costume contest for dogs, is going to be held virtually.
Submissions of the best costumed canines will be accepted from now until Oct. 30 at www.nassaucountyny.gov/barkfest. Starting Oct. 31, photos of each pup will be posted on the same Barkfest website, and the public will vote until Nov. 5.
“Nassau Barkfest has become an annual Halloween tradition for dog owners across Long Island,” said Curran. “I am thrilled to be able to transform this beloved event to ensure the show could go on this year in a safe and engaging new way. Encouraging all to help us choose the winner and cast their vote beginning on Halloween. Thank you to the Nassau SPCA for its sponsorship.”
