Nassau Man, Dog Die After Being Hit By Car
Police say the man was walking his dog when they were hit while crossing the street.

MASSAPEQUA, NY — A man and his dog were killed Thursday night after they were hit by a car while out for a walk in Massapequa.
The 30-year-old man — who police have not yet named — was walking his dog and crossing Merrick Road near Forrest Avenue when they were hit by a car heading west on Merrick Road, police said.
The driver of the car, a 72-year-old man, remained at the scene, police said.

Police said the 30-year-old suffered traumatic injuries and died at the scene.
Police said there was no apparent criminality involved in the collision. The driver of the car was not injured.
