Obituary: ​Vito J. Calcaterra, of Massapequa, Dies at 88

Vito J. Calcaterra, of Massapequa, passed away on January 3, 2017. He was 88.

Vito was retired from the New York City Sanitation. He enjoyed paddle ball, playing 4 times a week and walking 3 miles a day.

He was also a volunteer fireman in Bellerose Terrace.

He was predeceased in life by his wife of 28 years, Elvira.

Calcaterra is survived by his companion, Marie and his children, Vincent (Debra), and John.

In addition, he is survived by his grandson of Justin as well as his siblings, Dominick, Tony, John, Frances and Catherine.

Visitation and funeral service were held over the weekend.
