Oyster Bay Opens Cooling Centers, Extends Pool Hours This Week
With a heat wave hitting this week, the town is offering locations for residents to cool off.

TOWN OF OYSTER BAY, NY — With high temperatures and humidity impacting the region, the Town of Oyster Bay announced that hours of operation at all town pools will be extended until 8 p.m. from June 28 through July 4 at all locations.
Pools will continue to open daily at 11 a.m. Additionally, cooling centers will be open to the public town-wide.
"We want to help you beat the heat! With the forecast calling for extreme heat, we invite our residents to enjoy some fun family time and make the town pool facilities their backyards away from home," said Supervisor Joseph Saladino. "Our town pools and beaches are a staycation destination for residents of all ages and that especially holds true this year."

"As temperatures increase, a combination of heat and humidity has the potential to become overwhelming, especially out in the direct sun," Saladino said. "To help provide our residents with some relief, we have made these cooling centers available for those in need of a location to cool off."
