Long Island Weather: Snow Estimates Released For Thursday Storm
Who is ready for some more snow?? Spring is 33 days away.

LONG ISLAND, NY — The National Weather Service has released its first snow total estimates for a storm expected to hit Long Island later this week.
"Low pressure will bring another round of wintry weather to the area late Wednesday night into Friday," a hazardous weather outlook issued for the region reads. "At this time, accumulating snow changing over to a wintry mix is expected."
A total of 1-3 inches of snow is likely to accumulate across the island on Thursday. There's about a 50 percent chance of more than 1 inch and a 20 percent chance of more than 2 inches, according to NWS maps.

Snow should begin on Long Island by Thursday afternoon, mixing with sleet, before rain enters the equation Thursday night. Things are expected to dry up around daybreak Friday.
Before we get to the storm, a winter weather advisory is in effect until 1 a.m. Tuesday for northern Nassau County and and northwestern Suffolk County. Light freezing rain could produce a light glaze of ice in those areas Monday night. Very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges are possible, the weather service says.
