What's Open, Closed In Massapequa This Thanksgiving

MASSAPEQUA, NY - It's almost time to sit down with the family and feast on turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie.
While some people — including employees at some retail stores — will be working on the holiday, many area businesses and offices will be closed, giving workers a day off.
Here's list of what's open and what's closed in Massapequa.

- Post office: Closed
- Federal offices: Closed
- Massapequa Park Village/Town of Oyster Bay: offices are closed. Garbage collection will be delayed a day.
- Nassau County offices, including the circuit clerk's office, courts, health department and more will be closed on Thanksgiving
- Local schools: Closed
- Library: Closed
- Banks: Closed
- Gas stations: Open
- Retail stores: Some will be closed, some — including area grocery stores — will be open. Walmart, for instance, will be open, but the deals don't start until 6 p.m. Other retailers have decided to take a stand against opening on Thanksgiving. Call ahead to make sure
