Bicyclist Struck By Car Seriously Injured
BREAKING: A woman and her two children inside the car were also injured in the crash Tuesday afternoon.
MEDFORD, NY – A bicyclist was struck by a car in Medford Tuesday afternoon and four people were sent to the hospital, Suffolk police said.
Ana Gonzalez, 34, was driving a 2016 Honda CRV west on Horseblock Road when it collided with a bicyclist about 545 feet west of Route 112 at around 12:55 p.m.
The bicyclist, Michael Mandel, 52, of Medford, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where he is listed serious condition. Gonzalez, of Ronkonkoma, and her two children suffered minor injuries and were taken to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652
