Cuomo Re-Elected, But Loses Suffolk County

A county that went big for the governor four years ago went in favor of his Republican challenger this year.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo won big over Republican challenger Rob Astorino on Tuesday, but it wasn’t thanks to Suffolk County voters.

Unofficial results show that Suffolk went in favor of the Westchester County executive by a margin of 150,335-146,615. In 2010, Suffolk overwhelming favored Cuomo over Carl Paladino.

Andrew M. Cuomo- Total votes: 146,615

  • Democratic- 126,358
  • Working Families- 7,181
  • Independence- 6,681
  • Women’s Equality- 6,395

Rob Astorino- Total votes: 150,335
