Fencing Company Employee Struck by Truck
The 47-year-old Long Island man is in critical condition, police say.

RIDGE, NY – A fencing company employee was struck by a work vehicle in the company's parking lot in Ridge Saturday morning, Suffolk Police said.
According to police, 36-year-old Efran Veliz-Alverado was in Ford F-550 at RFC Residential Fences Corp., located at 1775 Middle Country Road, and began backing the vehicle into a parking spot when Mark Craparo walked into the yard and was struck by the truck at 10:45 a.m.
Craparo, 47, of Babylon, was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital by Suffolk County Police helicopter. He is in critical condition.

The Motor Carrier Safety Section responded to the scene for a safety check of the vehicle. OSHA was notified. Seventh Squad detectives are continuing the investigation.
