Halloween Costume's Toy Gun Locks Down Long Island College
BREAKING: The campus was told to "secure in place" and police responded when a 911 caller reported what they believed was a real gun.

SELDEN, NY – A toy gun that was reportedly part of a Halloween costume caused a scare at Suffolk County Community College in Selden Tuesday morning.
Someone at the college called Suffolk Police at 10:30 a.m. to report a gun on the campus. At 10:45 a.m., the college's Twitter account posted, "AMMERMAN CAMPUS SHELTER SECURE IN PLACE EMERGENCY ALERT." Two minutes later, the college tweeted, "All Clear."
Police say the gun was determined to be a toy. NBC 4, citing info from the college's public safety office, reported that the gun was part of a Halloween costume.

There was just a “take shelter,” emergency at SCCC. In about 2 seconds I had all the desks up against the door, lights off, windows shut.
