It's A Windy, Rainy Long Island Sunday

The rain should end by mid-morning Sunday on Long Island, but winds gusting to close to 50 mph may cause some problems through the afternoon.

A wind advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees and power lines, the National Weather Service says. Scattered power outages are expected.

As of 8 a.m., PSEG Long Island is reporting just a couple hundred power outages across the island.

Sunday- Showers, mainly before 8am. Temperature falling to around 46 by 5pm. Breezy, with a southwest wind 20 to 24 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 47 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Sunday Night- Partly cloudy, with a low around 33. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. West wind 15 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph.

Monday- Mostly sunny, with a high near 45. Wind chill values between 25 and 35 early. West wind 16 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.

Monday Night- Mostly clear, with a steady temperature around 41. West wind 10 to 15 mph.

Tuesday- Sunny, with a high near 55. Southwest wind 9 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.

Tuesday Night- A 30 percent chance of rain after 4am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 44.

Wednesday- A 40 percent chance of rain before noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 53.

Wednesday Night- Partly cloudy, with a low around 32.

Thanksgiving Day- Mostly sunny, with a high near 42.
